Both Hands. One for the widow. One for the orphan.
We are in the middle of the adoption process. It's both exciting and overwhelming! We look forward to having a child in our home to love and to raise.
Before my husband and I met, we both had an interest in international adoption. We expected to have a few kiddos of our own and then to adopt. But, after several years of marriage and no kids - we decided that it was time!
As we searched different adoption resources, we were excited to come across a fundraising ministry called Both Hands. The concept is one hand for an orphan and one hand for a widow. James 1:27 says:
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
As we continue to wait another 4-6 months until it is time to travel to bring our son home, we look forward to working with the Both Hands ministry to fundraise and to serve a widow! You can check them out at www.BothHands.org.
