Goodbye Corporate America
After six and half years, I did it! I resigned from working at a corporate company. While I learned a lot and had potential to have a strong career in corporate America, it just wasn't for me. So, I did it; I took a leap of faith and stepped down from my job.
Faith is mentioned in the Bible many, many times. Hebrews 11:1 states:
"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."
Taking this leap of faith is both exciting and nerving. My job provided stable income and the benefits for my family. It's risky to let go of both of those things. However, after much time, prayer, and discussion, the time felt right.
This is my first full week with this fresh and welcomed change. It's going to take a little time to adjust, but I'm excited. Two of my focus areas are serving at my home church and partnering with my husband to run Living Avenue. Jeff recently blogged about relaunching Living Avenue with a focus on Bibles. Pretty exciting to be part of spreading the Good Word along with my hubby!
Prior to making my big decision, I heard several speakers and sermons that tugged at my heart to work more within in my passions and God-given skills and talents. Maybe you're experiencing some similar heart-tugs. Maybe it's time.
So, here's to taking that leap of faith; here's to hope; here's to not being afraid to try!
